OUR GREATEST ADVENTURE!
THE ADVENTURE BEGINS
The Wedding Day
Meet The Future Mr & Mrs Miller!
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. How we decided that we should be together forever!
Written by the Bride
Genuine, dedicated, witty, and faith-filled are a few words that paint the picture of my future husband. I thought I was a hard worker until I met him…working a full-time job, through the night in the field, and side jobs galore… yet he still manages to find time to spoil me and his favorite littles. He really is all a woman could hope for…he bakes, cooks, cleans, and is trained well, as he always reminds me that he made it to 31 without me! 😉 From making jam together to hiking/crazy adventures, there is never a dull moment. I wouldn’t want to journey this wild, life adventure with anyone else by my side. You were definitely worth the wait, Mr. Miller, I am one lucky gal!

Well, I guess this is where I need to use my words. My future wife: she loves God, family, cheese curds, and me! She loves old people, too, which is good for me since I am four years older than her! When her most common phrase when we are together is, “You know, we really didn’t eat that much today.” you know you have found a good one! I had been praying for years for my future wife, not knowing who she would be, and she ended up being so much better than I prayed for or imagined. God really outdid Himself when He brought Kari into my life! She is so caring, loving, talented, smart and funny, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her! Now, when it comes to her running a lawn mower, let’s just say it is really funny listening to her description of me running after her…
Nathan had been settled in his cozy little life for approximately 11 years, but in reality, he was “going, going, going” with lots of side jobs and a more than full-time job. Meanwhile, Kari had been a traveling physical therapist for 5 years, enjoying the many adventures across the country. Amidst these travels, Kari and Nathan would have crossed paths in 2014 at a good friend’s (Camri) wedding in Colorado. However, they don’t remember meeting, even though people told Nathan about a girl from Maine that was single and present…. needless to say, Maine was too far for this Midwest boy to travel for a girl. Fast forward to November, 2016, and Kari was at another friend’s wedding where Camri’s parents pushed for her to meet Nathan in the near future. However, Kari was moving to Florida for her next travel contract and had thrown out May as a possible time to meet in the future. Back in Illinois, Nathan met up with Camri’s family the day after Christmas, when he was encouraged to start talking to Kari long distance. Reluctantly, Nathan told Camri’s mom to send Kari his contact information. Facebook messages turned into phone conversations, and eventually a statement from Kari, “you could also just bring the movies when you visit in Florida.” To which Nathan responded by buying a plane ticket within 24 hours to fly to Fort Myers, FL on a secret trip to meet Kari the first weekend in February. A busy weekend of adventures slowed for a night on the beach during which Nathan asked Kari to be his girlfriend. After being caught off guard, Kari paused, and then much to his surprise, said “yeah, we could try that.” A second trip to Florida in March was followed by many weekend adventures in the Midwest after Kari moved to Fennimore, WI for her last travel contract. Being two hours apart was much better than a plane flight away! After Kari completed her last travel contract, she moved to Davenport, IA and bought a condo the same month Nathan bought a new house. The next several months consisted of many date nights and adventures in the Quad Cities, the fields, and the greater Midwest (Kari knows no stranger)! Kari and Nathan made a return trip to Florida in January, 2018 where Nathan had planned to propose at Disney, but Kari threw an innocent curve ball at the unknown plan. To hear the full engagement story, check out the video.
Get ready for a huge celebration on June 15, 2019! While we love kids, this is an adults-only event! We hope you enjoy this opportunity for a date night (assuming you aren’t single…but there is hope, even Nathan found someone)!

Maid of Honor
A partner in crime when we were kids to a confidant as we grew older, my sister has been there through all of life’s crazy turns. Growing up, she was definitely the peacemaker out of the three of us kids. She has a contagious smile, attracting many friends, but she allowed me to be the “tag-along” on their adventures (even though I had crazy bangs!). For those of you who think I’m crafty and creative, you should see Katie’s work…when we were kids we spent many hours scrapbooking together, and I had to look to her for creativity advice…she’s extremely talented! As much as I disliked growing up in her and my brother’s shadows, there is no one I would have rather been mentored by in those early years. Thanks for helping to shape me into who I am today, and for standing by my side on our special day!
Mary Therese (MT) Krueger
Matron of Honor
Let’s start at the very beginning…that’s a very good place to start 😉 We met our first year at St. Ambrose 11 years ago, lived together for 3 years during college/grad school, ran a half marathon together, explored six countries in three weeks in 2014, and have joined each other in many other shenanigans along the way! That’s our relationship in a nutshell…however, there is SO much more to MT than meets the eye! She’s one of the most goofy, genuine, faith-filled, selfless people I have ever met, and to be honest, in college I learned a lot from her, beyond how to procrastinate! She has been called to a life of service, and I couldn’t be more proud of her advocacy for others as well as the Church. I am blessed to call her one of my best friends (even though she hates that term!) and honored to have her by my side today and throughout this journey of life!
Another friendship that started at St. Ambrose 11 years ago! Camrizzle is a genuine, selfless, fun, crazy girlfriend that helped me get the most out my college experience! From service trips to Kentucky to straightening my hair and dressing/accessorizing me for nights out, Camri always helped to make the experience memorable. Camri’s wedding would have been the first time Nathan and I would have met; however, neither of us remember meeting there. But, no one escapes the ‘Shelli Plan’ (and Randy – Camri’s parents), so thanks to both of our friendships with Camri and the Wolfs’ persistence, we began talking and the rest is history. Camri’s sense of humor, unique culinary creations, and her zest for fun has strengthened our friendship across the miles! I am so proud to refer to you as Dr. McGinn and am very blessed to have you by my side throughout our love story!
“Hi, I know your grandparents, maybe we should be friends.” I believe that’s how our friendship began in Spanish class my senior year of high school when Lauren moved to Illinois 12 years ago. We were instant best friends with many laughs, slumber parties, and adventures. Our friendship became even stronger when I lived with Lauren’s family during one of my clinicals in Colorado Springs. Our Pinterest cooking nights, line dancing, and saving one bunny at a time from the window well were the foundation for memories of a lifetime. Lauren is very wise and taught me to be congruent, and she has a passion for helping others that is evident in all that she does. Even though we don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like, we’re blessed that our friendship remains strong and we pick right up where we left off when we’re together. It has been a joy watching Lauren transition to a wife and a mother, and I couldn’t be happier to have her by my side today and always!
What can I say? God outdid Himself when he chose my in-laws. Being treated like one of the family from day one is a true blessing, and I couldn’t be more excited to call Amanda my sister-in-law. From wine tasting to riding along in the field, there is never a dull moment! Amanda’s sense of humor, congenial demeanor, and authenticity make her a great friend and mother. Although we’ve only known each other a little over a year, it feels like it’s been a lifetime. I can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for us in the future, and I’m delighted to have you by my side!
The daughter of two angels, Gabby was one of my favorite roomies! When I moved to Maine the first time, I was in a housing bind, and after only knowing me for a month, one of my coworkers (Gabby’s dad) offered for me to move in with them for the remainder of my contract. At the time, Gabby was 2 and she was the best person to share the loft with. We quickly became like family, and I cherish the relationships formed with the whole Perfetto clan. I have not met anyone with a more selfless, genuine, and faithful disposition than the Perfettos, and I am blessed that our paths crossed in a deep manner to create the relationship we have today. I can’t wait to witness my adorable roomie walk down the aisle as a junior bridesmaid, I can’t believe how quickly she’s becoming a little woman!
Just like in the movies, I’m still convinced Nathan used the maximum cuteness of his niece to win me over! JK, Nathan has game, but Paisley sure helped! It melts my heart watching Nathan play with Paisley with such eagerness and genuine love! Nothing brings me more joy than Paisley getting excited to see Aunt Kari and asking for cuddles. Paisley does a good job of keeping Uncle Nate and I on our toes, from baking parties to the bounce house, she’s always on the move. I can’t wait for Paisley to be the one, and only one, that is cuter than me on our big day But more importantly, I can’t wait to watch little miss grow into a beautiful young woman!
I have known Bryan for a little over a decade now. We met at Crossroads, and in 2008 I started working for his family in the field during harvest. Bryan and his wife, Chelsea, were the first people that I told about Kari, so they have been involved since almost the beginning! Bryan and Chelsea’s kids were the first kids to call me “Uncle Nate!” It’s a lot of fun getting together with them as couples now, so I’m not just the awkward third wheel!
I got to know Jake at Crossroads when he started helping me with lighting and the video system. I talked him into coming to a jr/sr high summer camp or two with Crossroads to help me with the technical side of things…one time I talked him into it while I was on the road heading to Lake Geneva for camp, so he packed a bag quick and came up to help for the week! There was also that time he was helping me change some bulbs on lights on the top of the truss on the stage, and I happened to remember while I was walking down the hall towards the auditorium (while he was crawling on top of the truss above the stage) that the power was still on to one of the fixtures he was working on. I was a few seconds too late…he already discovered that the fixture was still on! Oops…that was my bad…at least he didn’t fall! After June 15, 2019, I’ll be living about 12 minutes away from Jake, so maybe we will see each other a little more often!
I met Ross and his family through Crossroads, and it sure is a good thing I did! He spent a few summers helping me at Crossroads, and we had a good time! Ross gets some of the credit for this whole setup with Kari! I was at his parents’ house on December 26, 2016 to visit him and his wife, Emily, while they were home from Baltimore, and it was that night that I finally caved in to the ‘Shelli Plan’ (his mom) and said that I would talk to Kari.
Wes is the newest friend on this list! I got to know him while he was our media director at Crossroads for a few years. We had fun working together, and I got to introduce him to Las Vegas in 2018.
I have known Tim the longest of all of the groomsmen! We grew up going to church, school, 4-H and FFA together. We may or may not have gotten caught playing cards during church in Seward while I was running the video camera during a service.
Payton is my brother-in-law’s pretty cool son! I met him when he was roughly six years old when his dad started seeing my sister. A few of Payton’s finer qualities include his mentoring of Paisley as a big brother, being very well-behaved and respectful, and his willingness to always pitch in and help. He always keeps us on our toes…when I sent him the picture of Kari’s ring, his response was, “Holy POOP yOU GOT MARRIED!!!!!!!”
Brody is the son of the best man, Bryan. I’ve known Brody since he was born, and I’ve always been ‘Uncle Nate’ to him. I don’t know if he has figured out yet that I’m not really his uncle… Being an honorary uncle has its perks…I introduced him to Legos, and now his parents get the joy of stepping on Legos as they’re walking through the house. Somehow, and I haven’t figured out how this happens yet, when Brody is playing Legos with his dad and myself, it usually turns into just Bryan and I playing with Legos at the end.
